The launch of the mosaic at Catchgate Communal Rooms, near Stanley, County Durham, will take place at 2pm tomorrow.
There will be a display of work in progress and refreshments will be provided.
Historian Hylton Marrs, who has written several books on the area, will open the mosaic.
