A MAN in his 60s was treated in hospital in the early hours of Saturday after what police suspect was an arson attack on a block of flats.

Five other people were evacuated from Queen's Terrace, Scarborough, as a result of the blaze which was started in rubbish, including a settee, pushed up against the wall of the flats.

Firefighters said the blaze had spread to the first floor of the property.

A police spokesman said they were investigating the incident because there were reports that a petrol bomb had been found in the area in recent weeks.
