HEALTH bosses on the Yorkshire coast are exploring the possibility of sharing medical staff and recruiting overseas doctors in a bid to fill vacancies.

There are five vacant doctors' posts at Scarborough General Hospital, according to the local health trust's medical director, Dr Ian Holland.

He said: "We have found that potential candidates are reluctant to apply as they tend to prefer to work in places where there are more staff, support and opportunity to specialise."

He added that the hospital is already involved in a number of clinical networks, with staff splitting their time between three hospitals.
