The following cases were heard at South Durham Youth Court, in Darlington, yesterday:

ASSAULT DENIED: A 16-year-old girl denied a charge of assault in Darlington on November 12. The case was adjourned until April 25 and the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was granted unconditional bail.

CASE MOVED: The case against a 16-year-old youth charged with affray and seven counts of theft was transferred to York Youth Court. The teenager, who admitted all the charges, was granted conditional bail to appear before magistrates in York on April 1.

SHOP THEFT: A 15-year-old boy who admitted stealing a personal stereo and fizzy drink from Boyes, in Darlington, was given a six-month supervision order.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: The case against a 12-year-old boy accused of criminal damage was adjourned until March 28. He was granted unconditional bail.

ROBBERY CHARGES: A 16-year-old youth was charged with two counts of robbery, involving a game console and software worth £420 and a silver necklace and bracelet worth £35. The case was adjourned until March 28.

BAIL GRANTED: The case against a 14-year-old boy accused of handling a stolen mobile phone was adjourned until March 28. The teenager was granted unconditional bail.

GUILTY PLEA: A 12-year-old boy admitted breaching a three-month referral order which imposed by the youth court in January for assault causing actual bodily harm. Magistrates extended the order for three months.

CASE ADJOURNED: A 17-year-old youth was charged with burglary, handling stolen goods and allowing himself to be carried in a stolen vehicle. The case was adjourned until April 4 and he was granted unconditional bail.
