NOMINATIONS for the Mayor of Darlington's Community Awards are being invited.
Darlington's top citizens or groups can be honoured for their community work or efforts for good cause.
People who have made a significant difference to the community can be nominated for Citizen of the Year, while groups can be nominated for Community Group of the Year.
The chosen Citizen of the Year will be invited to civic events, including the mayor-making ceremony, Mayor's Sunday, the Mayoress at Home, the Mayor's Ball and Holocaust Memorial Day.
People have until April 30 to complete the nomination form (below) and send it to The Northern Echo.
The winner will be selected by a panel of judges and announced on May 7.
The award will be made by Darlington Mayor Doris Jones, at a ceremony a week later.
