A MOTORIST who crashed into a parked car while reaching for his mobile phone was fined £50 by magistrates yesterday.

Christopher Williamson, 18, of Carwardine Close, Newton Aycliffe, pleaded guilty at South Durham Magistrates' Court to driving without due care in Staindrop Crescent, Darlington.

CASES ADJOURNED: Three teenagers appeared before South Durham Magistrates' Court charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm. Wayne Ashley Teder, 19, of Marshall Road, Newton Aycliffe, and two 17-year-old youths who cannot be named for legal reasons, were released on bail and will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on April 4.
