Current League Champions Grangetown Boys Club slipped to a surprise defeat against Whitby side Fishburn Park.

Division One

Grangetown BC 0 v 2 Fishburn Park

After a goalless first half and own goal gave Fishburn the lead when a bad back pass led to Alan Shepherd knocking the ball into his own goal in the 76th minute. The Boys Club pressed forward but with two minutes remaining Fishburn broke and added a second through Paul Graham. A bitter blow to the Boys Club who slip to third following this defeat and Nunthorpe Athletic narrow win at Thornaby YC, six points now separate Grangetown and Nunthopre from leaders Bedale, who Nunthorpe in a week time.

Mackinlay Pk 1 v 1 Whitby Town Res

Redcar side who came of the bottom of the league last week were looking for points to get them clear of a relegation battle, they entertained Whitby Town Reserves. Steve McGillicuddy with his first of the season gave Mackinlay Park a 30th minute lead, but Whitby Town battled back and Kristian Kamara with his first of the season earned Whitby Town a point in this 1-1 draw.

New Marske SC 1 v 6 Acklam SW

New Marske Sports Club shocked visitors Acklam Steelworks by taking the lead but this was the only good thing that happened for the home side as five minutes later a penalty was awarded from which Dean Talukder made it 1-1. Ten minutes later a second penalty was awarded, Talukder made it 2-1, which remained the half-time score. Ten minutes into the second half a third penalty was awarded and a New Marske player was sent off, Talukder grabbed his hat-trick from the resulting penalty. Khalide Mazfari then put the game beyond New Marske when he scored. And Talukder scored his fourth of the match, all penalties before Andrew List made it a final score of 6-1 ten minutes from time.

Richmond Town 0 v 2 Stokesley SC

Richmond Town found themselves a goal behind five minutes before half time, when visitors Stokesley took the lead when a dreadful mistake by Steve Hunter gave Jonathan Smith a one on one with keeper James Allis, and he made no mistake. On the break Stokesley broke down the right and a square ball across the Richmond penalty box found Smith who made no mistake from six yards and he made it 2-0.

Thornaby YC 1 v 2 Nunthorpe Ath

Thornaby Youth Club suffered only their fourth defeat of the season when entertaining Title hopefuls Nunthorpe Athletic.The deadlock was broken late in the second half when a shot by Glynn Swinnerton was well saved by Thornaby keeper Shane Hine, but somehow the ball slipped from his grasp and rolled into the goal for the Nunthorpe opener in the 72nd minute. Eight minutes later Marty Moore back headed an equaliser. Nunthorpe won when Anthony Roberts claimed the important winner.

Wolviston Res 1 v 2 Carlin How

Wolviston again had to give up home advantage and swap their match to their opponents Carlin How, this did not seem to affect Wolviston as they were well on top and had a couple of good chances. After only 15 minutes not surprisingly Wolviston took the lead when a corner from Ian Thompson saw the ball ricochet around the six-yard box and fall to Craig Leslie who slotted the ball home, this seemed to wake up Carlin How and twenty minutes later Jason Draper pulled it level. Carlin How snatched the winner when Kevin Hampton ran through and knocked the ball home for the winner.

Division Two

Darlington CB 4 v 0 Dormans FC

A shock defeat for Dormans who were hoping to catch up with second division leaders SMG Redstripes, but hosts Darlington Cleveland Bridge took a narrow lead into half time following Lee Hammond's 12th minute opener.

Three minutes into the second half Martin Smith with his second of the season made it 2-0, two minutes later there was no way back for Dormans when Michael Dutton made it 3-0, the home side had to withstand the visitors pressure but with five minutes remaining Stuart Hardy secured the points with his third of the season.

D'ton RA Res 1 v 2 Teesside Arriva

The basement club switched home advantage to Hartlepool and matched Teesside Arriva for the first hour of this meeting, ten minutes into the second half Dave Clark with his fifth of the season gave Arriva a slender lead, four minutes later Glen Watson with his fifth of the season added a second, but Darlington RA then broke and pulled a goal back with eight minutes remaining through Scott Bowley, giving his team some hope of getting back into the match but Arriva withstood the pressure to secure the three points and keep their hopes of promotion on course.

Teesside Ath 6 v 1 Whinney Banks

Redcar side Teesside Athletic took the lead against Whinney banks after fifteen minutes from the penalty spot, when Jamie Martin was brought down, he got of the deck and smashed home hi 14th of the season.

Five minutes later Michael McGurk made it 2-0, this was too much for Anthony High and he saw sent of after allegedly swearing at one of the assistant referees, fifteen minutes later Athletic took a 3-0 lead into half time, when John McGuinness scored his first of the season, unfortunately Whinney Banks were reduced to nine men when David Barnes was sent off for swearing. On the hour Steve Dotchin added the forth for Teesside Athletic, but the nine men of the visitors pulled a goal back trough Arran Ward, but two late goals from Kirk Forsyth and Alex Hugill secured the points for the home side.

BEADS FC 0 v 1 Billingham Wndrs

This was a match that the home side should have won at the canter, if they had taken any of the chances they created, they were well on top of their second division rivals, who were pushed back from the kick off, but with one of their rare attacks they won the match when Lee Mitchell broke clear on the right, but the offside flag was never raised due to a defender well back in his own half, and Mitchell ran on and chipped the advancing keeper Archie Moore on the hour, he nearly repeated the feat ten minutes later when he broke against the run of play, but his lob bounced over the BEADS goal instead of into it, due to a very uneven and bumpy pitch.

Billingham Wanderers have earned a semi-final match away to Grangetown Boys Club in April.

Bedale FC 1 v 0 Thornaby FC

Leaders Bedale entertained current MacMillan Bowl holders Thornaby, in an end to end entertaining match there was little difference between the two sides and although both sides created chances they failed to convert the chances and at half time the match remained goalless. The second half remained the same with both sides going for the win bit neither side again taking their chances, with the match looking to be heading to extra time, Wayne Gredziak pounced with two minute of the match remaining with his 25th goal of the season, he now takes over as the Leagues leading goal scorer but his goal was sufficient to put his side through to the semi-final of the cup, with a match at home to Acklam in the semi-finals in April.
