It was League Cup quarter Final day with some good games, two of which could of gone either way. There were no real surprises in the other two, one game, that was at Shildon where the home team Elm Road WMC salvaged a draw in the 87th minute to take their game with Hurworth Otter & Fish into extra time. The sides were all-square at the interval at 2-2, Daryl Meadows scoring twice for Elm Road with Wayne King and sub Simon Middlemiss replying. It was Middlemiss who struck again midway through the second, then came the saver from Carl Dawson. In extra time Elm lasted the better to clinch a semi spot with goals from Dawson and Chris Ross.

The other tight game was at Aycliffe where Saints took on Stillington The Royal. Royal had the better of the first half exchanges and went in 2-0 up through goals from Simon Hares and Paul Weir. Saints pulled one back and piled on the pressure but an equaliser evaded them.

Darlington RA Youth entertained Bishopton Hoppers Transport who restricted them to two goals in the first half, the second was mainly Youth who added a further five to Hoppers' one. There was a brace for Ross Wetherell, Graham Dodsworth and sub Carl Moss (headers), Ian Thompson scored from the spot for Hoppers.

Darlington Travellers Rest came away from Chilton with a 5-0 victory over Wheatsheaf Wanderers who are still finding it difficult to turn chances into goals. Matty Cole, Chris Hall, Chris Marsby and a pair for Max Ripley being their scorers.

In the league Darlington AFC Greyhound had a good 3-1 win at Aycliffe against Navy Club in what was an end to end encounter. Mike Bainbridge, Michael Ryan and Barry Bell for Greyhound with Wayne Pratt scoring for Navy Club. Darlington The Mowden had little trouble against Darlington GSOB winning 6-0. Callum Reilly (2), one apiece for Jonathan Mellis, Nick Raine, James Applegarth and goal of the game came from Ritchie Dodsworth who took the ball from midfield to round the keeper and slot home.

T M Disco Crook and District League: Discipline was high on the agenda at the monthly meeting.

Clubs were informed that Durham FA had imposed fines on Evenwood White Swan and Crook Wanderers following receipt of reports from referees. White Swan were fined £75 for two offences and Crook Wanderers £25 for one.

League officials voted to apply the same fines on the clubs who were reminded that any further similar incident this season would see them thrown out of the league.

League chairman John Priestley said: "We have seen an increasing number of incidents of bad behaviour. We will not tolerate this and are determined to stamp it out.
