Bishop Auckland manager Brian Honour has set a midtable target for his team.

Bishops lifted themselves to the heady heights of fifth from bottom after their win last weekend over Eastwood who, along with Trafford, now look doomed to be relegated.

Honour still doesn't feel completely safe, but he said: "If results continue to go for us, we could finish the season just below halfway, which isn't bad considering the position we were in at Christmas.

"I want the players to look above us now in the table, and aim to overtake the likes of Guiseley. It will be important to finish the season well, in order to put us in good heart for next year.

"I was a little bit unhappy with our first half performance on Saturday, but I can't grumble too much. We've had wins against Spennymoor and Eastwood in our last two matches, and a draw against Witton before that.

"We were absolutely delighted with seven points."

Bishops have a re-arranged game on Wednesday night against bottom club Trafford.

Spennymoor striker Anthony Woodhouse was a hat-trick hero for Spennymoor on Tuesday with a hat trick against Lincoln United.

Woodhouse opened the scoring with a right foot shot just before half time, then scored his second from the penalty spot after 55 minutes. He completed his hat-trick with a long range lob over advancing keeper Steve Cherry from 30 yards.

Spennymoor, meanwhile, will soon be without defender Michael Robson because of a five-game suspension while keeper, Martin Kearney, is also looking at a one game ban after he was red-carded for handling the ball outside his area late in the game.

However, on the plus side. Moors are now in third place, as Radcliffe Borough lost to leaders Alfreton.

Moors have three games in hand on second-placed North Ferriby with three games in hand, and an automatic slot is their next target.

Moors face Lincoln United again on Tuesday night.

Gateshead have signed central midfielder Anthony March from Dunston, the second player they have signed from the Northern League club after Ben Cattanach moved three months ago.

They have also signed Michael Chilton, a striker, from Northern Alliance club West Allotment.

Centre half Rob Jones is set for a trial at Stoke after they watched him play for Oldham Reserves.

* Midfielder Phil Hadland, who was with Darlington at the start of the season, has joined First Division Leek Town while Chris Coleman, who played at Middlesbrough amongst other clubs and has cost over £1m on his football travels, has signed for Premier Division club Hyde United
