Winter League: The Winter Leagues started in October 2002 with two competitions, a Saturday winter league and a Sunday winter league. Both the leagues were well supported with 55 pairs and 54 pairs respectively.

The leagues were divided into two stages. the first stage being a Stableford league running over a 14-week period where the best ten weeks results were totalled together and the top 16 pairs of the respective league went forward to the second stage which were Matchplay Knockout competitions.

The winners of the Matchplay Knockout competitions were to become the eventual winners of the winter league.

Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions the Saturday league was reduced to ten weeks with the best eight weeks results counting and the Sunday league reduced to five weeks with all results counting.

The Matchplay Knockout competitions went to plan with the finals being well contested.

In the Saturday League final Alistair Macpherson and Peter Callaghan narrowly defeated John Race and Keith Wynne, Paul Musgrave and Graham Milne defeated Ron Gill and Mike Wade in the Sunday League final.

Alistair Macpherson and Peter Callaghan will represent the club in the Pro-Quip Winter Challenge which is a National competition the final of which are to be held in April 2004 at St Andrews the home of golf.
