POLICE are appealing for information after a masked robber stole several hundred pounds from a town centre fish and chip shop.
Police said a woman assistant was unhurt but "extremely shocked." The robber's mask slipped during the raid, revealing pockmarked skin. Cleveland Police say the man forced open the door of the shop in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, at about 8.30pm, and approached the till, carrying a long object in a carrier bag. He was white, slim,in his 20s and about 5ft 8in. He wore a black balaclava, black jogging bottoms, a beige top with blue side panels and trainers. He made his getaway on a bicycle.Anyone with information is asked to call (01642) 303126.
NEW LOGO: A community centre in Stockton has been given a new logo. Susan Godley and Patricia Pullman, who attended an adult education course at the Willows Centre, created the mosaic with help from other students from their arts and crafts class. The mosaic has been hung in the main hall at the community centre.
EASTER FLOWERS: The Ladies Section of Marske Cricket Club is holding a flower evening called Flowers for Easter on Monday, April 7, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £2 and are available from the club or Jim Veitch, at The Wynd, in Marske, or pay at the door.
PHOTO CALL: A woman is appealing for information about two photographs she lost on the Number 22 New Marske to Redcar bus. The photographs were in a Marks and Spencer carrier bag and were in two envelopes, one inside the other. One of the pictures was old and showed a young soldier.
