CHARITIES that benefited from a group of teachers being locked in detention were presented with their cheques yesterday.
The group of nine teachers from Yarm Preparatory School, at Yarm, near Stockton, spent three nights locked in the school during the 'I'm a teacher - get me out of here' fundraising challenge.
Nearly £3,000 was raised by pupils and parents voting to keep certain teachers in the school resource room.
The money raised was distributed to the Butterwick Hospice, RNLI, Teesside Hospice, Multiple Sclerosis and Macmillan Cancer Care.
The competition was eventually won by PE teacher Matthew Sellers.
