Lifesaving courses geared towards saving babies' lives are being run from a North-East swimming baths.
A free course is to be run at Durham City Baths for Durham City Council staff who work with babies and toddlers and will teach them how to respond to a situation where babies are drowning, choking or have stopped breathing. The training will then be made available to people who care for babies, whether parents, grandparents, friends or baby-sitters.
It will be led by lifeguards Jonny Gwynne and David Walker, at the swimming pool, who are trained assessors for the Royal Life Saving Society UK.
David Walker, from Durham City Baths said: "Every parent should know how to resuscitate their baby and should insist that anyone who looks after their baby has attended Save a Baby's Life. We are ensuring that all city council staff are confident and competent when they are looking after babies and young children by holding the first Save a Baby's Life course especially for them."
To attend the course, call Mr Walker on 0191-384 3143.
