PEOPLE in Stockton are being asked to donate sports equipment to one of the town's charity shops.
Shelter, which is the official sponsor of this year's London Marathon, has teamed up with Bradford and Bingley to ask people to donate weights, clothing, fitness videos and other equipment. Donations will be accepted at the town's Shelter shop, or Bradford and Bingley branch, both in the High Street. Lesley Embleton, Shelter shop manager in Stockton, said: "People do not have to run the marathon to help homeless children - they can just dig out the sports equipment not used since January's work-out frenzy and donate them to Shelter.
