TWO boys from Our Lady and St Bede's RC School, in Stockton, have been to Liverpool for football trials with the British Catholic Schools Sports Federation.

Graham Mulgrew and Philip McGeeney, both in Year 11, took part, with Graham being selected to play in an international tournament in Spain later this year.

AWARDS NIGHT: More than 100 people will attend a health and social care course graduation evening at the University of Teesside next week. It will be the first official event presided over by the University's new vice-chancellor, Professor Graham Henderson. The event will be held on Tuesday, at 7pm, in the Middlesbrough Tower, off Borough Road, Middlesbrough.

RIGHT STEPS: Choreographer Peter Huggins, project manager with the Northern Youth Dance Company, has been rehearsing with local youngsters for a performance of a new dance piece, to be premiered at Middlesbrough Theatre tomorrow.

FREE DAY: A free open day has been organised for visitors to Newham Grange Leisure Farm, near Middlesbrough, on Saturday, April 5, from 10am to 4pm. The day is to celebrate the centre's 25th anniversary.

CHOIR CONCERT: Wilton Male Voice Choir will perform at The Ann Charlton Lodge, in Redcar, on Wednesday, at 7.30pm, in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Tickets are £2.

COSMETIC SUCCESS: Staff from Debenhams raised £830 for Butterwick Children's Hospice by hosting an Estee Lauder demonstration with their cosmetic sales manager Nicola Lowes.
