MIDDLETON St George could receive a £21,000 windfall for its play area if a new housing scheme goes through.
Thoroughbred Homes has applied to Darlington Borough Council to build 21 four-bedroom homes on land off Killinghall Row, currently used by RAH Transport and Malcolm Engineering.
The company has agreed to make the £21,000 payment to the village's new playground and it is also being asked to pay towards the improvement of public transport to the new housing estate, traffic calming in Yarm Road and the extension of the 30mph speed restriction.
The application will be decided at the town hall on Wednesday.
