STOKESLEY sixth form drama students pulled out all the stops for their last performances together before heading off to university, drama school or work.

Two groups of A-level students performed Agamemnon and Electra this week, with spectacular lighting, scenery and masks, mixing old and new drama styles.

Emotions were running high. The audience included families, friends and staff - plus a visiting examiner, whose marks went toward final A-level exam results.

Student Vikki Hawkins, of Nunthorpe, said: "It's been the most difficult production we've done - very stylistic and really ambitious. The stage set was really good.

"Both groups used masks and the stories were told by members of each chorus, which was how Greek tragedies were traditionally performed. But we also banged metal scenery and got quite physical, which is a bit more modern in style."

The cast of Agamemnon featured Luke Jameson, Sarah Glenwright, Katherine Shakesheff, Lisa Harling and Vikki Hawkins. Those in Electra were Alex Kitching, Katy Winterschladen, Richard Sutton, Becky Roberts and Jack Nightingale.

Luke Jameson and Katy Winterschladen were two of the students who have been offered places at drama schools.
