A SEMINAR promoting research and development in the North-East will take place today.
The Samsung Centre, near Hartlepool, will host an event designed to increase awareness and promote the importance of the North-East's scientific strengths to the future economic growth and prosperity of the region.
The seminar is jointly hosted by the North East Assembly, regional development agency One NorthEast and the Science and Industry Council of the North-East. It aims to attract more public sector involvement in research and development and increase university funding.
Science and Innovation Minister Lord Sainsbury will address delegates, focusing on how the North-East can close the productivity gap with other regions in the UK and Europe.
