AN opticians in Hartlepool will be used as an art gallery next week, when it puts children's artwork on display.
Primary schools throughout Hartlepool were invited to submit eye-themed artwork that could be used to decorate the new Specsavers store, in Wesley Way, in the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre.
The store received 36 entries, which were on display in the shopping centre on Saturday. Three overall winners will have their work framed and displayed in the store for the coming months.
Store director Ian Walker said: "We've been very impressed with the images we've received. There are some very imaginative and colourful pieces, as well as more scientific informative diagrams."
