City of Durham Dragonflies

The City of Durham Dragonflies Under-9s were away to East Durham and started quite well but were unable to put the ball in the net, despite having lots of chances and were eventually punished by the hosts who took the two chances they had to win 2-0. Man of the match was James Bramley.

The Dragonflies were on top from the kick off at home to Redby Blues, scoring early with a good strike from Joe Hirst. They continued to dominate with every boy giving 100 per cent and the second goal came from a great passing move a was finished off clinically by Max Nunney. To end the day on a high Luke Sproates powered a free kick low into the bottom corner of the Redby net to win 3-0. Man of the match was Luke Sproates.

Riverside - Chester-le-Street

The Under-9s drew 0-0 with Redby Whites before beating Belford House 3-1. The goals against Belford came from Goulding, Hindmarch and Thompson.

The Under-9s RAR drew 0-0 with Chester Athletic but went down 2-0 to Barnes Macs.

The Under-10s beat Belford House 1-0 the goal coming from Ryan and then drew 0-0 with Grindon Rangers.

Riverside Under-11s' charge up the table continued when they beat Durham Spitfires 7-1. Thomas 'Chopper' Vincent opened the scoring for Riverside and then Aaron Wearmouth, Jake Clarke and Simon Towers each scored two.

The Under-12s moved into third spot with a comprehensive 6-2 win over Boldon Colts.

The Under-13s travelled to Hordon where, despite a spirited performance, lost 1-0.

Riverside Under-8s had two goalless draws against Barnes Macs and Chester Athletic.

Thirsk Falcons

Thirsk Under-14s took three valuable points at Tees Valley winning 3-1.

Anthony Elders met a Dave James cross with a tremendous diving header for 1-0. Elders then double the lead when put through by Slappy. Matthew Lawley rifled in number three. Man of the match was M Cobb.
