SHAUN Mahaffey and Brian Boulton are police officers with top-flight ambitions.
PC Mahaffey and Sergeant Boulton, of Cleveland Police, will represent seven northern forces when they compete in the National Police Athletics Association Darts Championships, at Great Yarmouth in May.
Sgt Boulton, a member of community policing in Thornaby, and PC Mahaffey, who is based at Stockton police station, won the men's doubles in regional competitions. PC Mahaffey also took the men's individual title.
Sgt Boulton said: "With us both being county players we were expected to do well.
"I have entered in the past with lads who play in local leagues and have won the regional before. I have also won the national individual and mixed pairs, but never the men's pairs, so I am going for the full set."
