A NEW village police officer who has launched an advice surgery has praised residents for their help.
PC Kevin Kilkenny, who has taken over the role of beat officer, at Leadgate, near Stanley, County Durham, said: "The response from residents so far has been excellent and the surgery seems to have taken off. It is an opportunity for people to sit down and tell me any problems with crime or disorder they may be having."
The next surgery takes place tomorrow, in Leadgate Community Centre, from noon to 1pm, and 6pm to 7pm, and in Ponthead Community House, from 2pm to 3pm
