MUSICIAN Jennie Nicholson hit the right note with a judging panel when they named her County Durham's Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Ms Nicholson, 23, who lives in Witton Gilbert, won the title and a cheque for £500 at the final, held at Durham County Cricket Club and organised by Business Link County Durham.
All four judges were particularly impressed by the way Ms Nicholson combined her talent and passion for music with a determination to run a successful business.
She said: "I am absolutely delighted to have won and am really looking forward to the regional final on Thursday, May 8 in Newcastle."
Ms Nicholson set up a business when she was unable to find the job she wanted in the North-East following four years of study at a London music college.
Now she combines teaching with running music workshops for people with disabilities in residential homes and youth clubs.
