REDCAR'S Locke Park could receive a major facelift and people are being given a chance to have a say in its future.
Historic landscape and environmental consultants Scott Wilson has been appointed to carry out an appraisal of the park and to develop a restoration proposal.
Its work will include consulting everyone who has an interest in the future of the park.
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded the council and The Friends of Locke Park a £24,000 grant towards the £32,000 consultants' fee.
Friends chairman Ann Best said: "We have a wonderful amenity and we want people to be proud of it. This is the start of trying to achieve that. The more people we can get involved in the consultation the better."
