A FUNERAL service will be held on Friday for a four-year-old boy who died in an accident at his father's workshop.
Andrew Millns was with his father at A and M Kitchens, on the Gallowfield Industrial Estate, Richmond, North Yorkshire, when he was injured.
He was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital, but doctors could do nothing to save him.
Andrew's parents, who are expecting another baby, were being comforted by family yesterday.
Andy and Angela Millns moved to Richmond from Lincolnshire recently.
Their business was in the process of taking over a unit on the industrial estate's Racecourse Lane which was previously owned by a farm supply business.
Canon Richard Cooper, who will lead Friday's service, said: "It is such a terrible tragedy. All we can really do is offer what support and comfort we can to the family.
"I know the couple's parents have travelled to Richmond to be with them, which is what close families do at times like these, but it is still difficult to take in what has happened.
"Andrew was a much-loved child and, on Friday, I am sure the family will want to celebrate that. However, celebrating what you had sometimes emphasises just what you have lost, which can be very difficult to bear.
"Andrew's life may have been a short life, but he never knew disappointment; he knew only love and that, at least, is something which is massively positive."
Rex Dale, coroner's officer for North Yorkshire west, confirmed that an inquest into Andrew's death opened on Monday and was adjourned immediately to allow the Health and Safety Executive more time to investigate the accident.
Andrew's funeral will be held at Richmond's St Mary Church at 2pm on Friday.
