TWO call centre employees have received praise in a national award for sales workers.
Julie Abbott, 38, from Blackhall, near Consett, and Gavin Johnson, 39, from Durham, who both work at npower's call centre in Peterlee, have finished runners-up in the National Sales Awards.
Mr Johnson and Ms Abbott were nominated by their managers for the Telesales Professional of the Year and Telemarketer of the Year respectively, and were among the four finalists in their categories chosen to go to London, where they gave a presentation to judges on their role and approach to their job.
People entered the awards from more than 200 companies from all sectors of the sales and customer service industry, including financial organisations, energy companies and retail sales.
