Partnership group launch

PEOPLE in Darlington Borough Council's central ward are being invited to the first meeting of a partnership scheme that aims to help the community work together to access funding and support. The meeting will be on Wednesday, April 30, at 6.30pm, in St James the Great Church hall, Albert Hill.

HELP WANTED: Volunteers are needed to help with vegetation clearance work at Middleton St George, near Darlington, organised by the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, on Saturday, between 10am and 4pm. For details call (01325) 369152 or 07980 761048.

DONATIONS CALL: Items are needed for a table-top sale in St Cuthbert's Church hall, Darlington, on Saturday. The sale is being held with St Herbert's and St John's Church, Darlington. Donations can be taken to the church on the day or collection can be arranged by calling (01325) 283720.

PLANNING MEETING: Sedgefield Borough Council's development control committee will meet in the council chamber, Spennymoor, on Friday, at 10am.

FETE FUN: A spring fete is being held at Phoenix Court, Heron Drive, Darlington, on Saturday, at 1.30pm.

SPRING CELEBRATION: The home and family are being celebrated by the Salvation Army in Shildon. Two meetings, led by Majors May and Philip Wilbraham, will be held at the Army's Cross Street Centre on Sunday and Monday.

PLANS REVIEWED: Wear Valley District Council's development control committee will meet next Tuesday, at 6pm, in Crook Civic Centre.

QUIZ NIGHT: Etherley Methodist Church is holding a quiz night and cake stall, on Saturday, at 7.30pm, in aid of the church redevelopment fund.
