The route of the walk will take in several local colliery communities, including Thornley, Trimdon Station, Station Town and Wingate.

It is a sponsored walk to raise funds for the Wheatley Hill Community Partnership, but anyone can take part, whether thay have been sponsored or not.

To take part, meet at the heritage centre, next to the cemetery in Wheatley Hill, at 10am, on Sunday, May 11.
