VOLUNTARY projects are being urged to take a share of millions of pounds worth of grants.

The Community Fund has more than £10m to award in the North-East this year, and it wants to make sure that projects in Stockton, Middlesbrough, and Redcar and east Cleveland are given their share.

A quarter of grants to disadvantaged areas went to voluntary sector projects in the Tees Valley last year, and the Community Fund would like to increase that figure.

Once a month, Community Fund officers hold advice sessions at Stockton Voluntary Development Agency where groups can talk about their plans and find out about the policies and application procedures.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 15.

Details about the grants programmes the fund administers are available on the www.community-fund.org.uk website.

The application form can be filled in electronically. Alternatively, it can be obtained by contacting the application line on 0845 7919191.

To book an advice session contact the Community Fund offices in Newcastle, on 0191 255 1150.
