Roddymoor have a fine record in the Norman Wright Memorial Trophy but they lost out to West Auckland Queens Head in this year's final at Crook.

First half goals from Matthew Moffatt and Wayne Dobinson earned Queens Head a 2-0 win and the first leg of what they hope will be the double.

The next day Queens Head were expected to beat Ebchester in the semi-final of the Weardale Cup. All looked well when Anthony Bailes put West ahead in extra time but Ebchester came back to force penalties which they won to go through to the final.

Willington WMC entertained Coxhoe Athletic in the other semi and found the Durham Alliance side too strong. Stephen Russ had a fine game in the Willington goal and he alone kept the final score down to 2-0.

Byers Green had a fine first half in the league game at Howden Australian. Goals from Paul Brownson, Morgan Stanton and Jeff Morrow gave Byers a 3-0 half time lead after Australian had missed a penalty. Howden hit the bar and though Craig Robson scored twice Byers Green held on for a 3-2 win.

Lee Furber gave Crook Wanderers the lead from a penalty at home to Crook White Swan and Wayne Lonsdale made it 2-0. Robert Punshion pulled one goal back but Wanderers held on to win a drab game, which keeps their title hopes alive.
