AN election to fill seats on the parish council that covers Aiskew and Leeming Bar is to be held in June.
After Thursday the parish council will not have a quorum of three, the minimum number of members necessary to hold a meeting.
The combined parishes have eight seats but the members representing Leeming Bar are standing down and there will be only two for Aiskew.
The council was told last week that Hambleton District Council was making arrangements for an election on June 5, 35 working days after the first should have taken place.
It was agreed that a discussion about the possibility of a merger with Bedale Town Council should be deferred until a new parish council was in place.
