OLD soldiers are being offered the chance to ride steam trains at 1940s prices, as part of a fun day this weekend.
Tanfield Railway, near Stanley, County Durham, holds a military-themed weekend from Saturday to Monday.
Anyone producing their original wartime identity card will be charged 1944 fares. Other visitors arriving in period costume can travel at half price.
