A DOUBLE date with two hearthrob actors is up for grabs in a North-East charity auction taking place tonight.

Full Monty star Hugo Speer and Men Behaving Badly actor Neil Morrissey are offering two women a date with them at their favourite restaurant as the leading lot in the sale at Newcastle's Bar 38.

Also being auctioned is the jacket that Speer wore in the hit movie, a signed Full Monty poster and five pieces of original Viz artwork. Unusual lots include Premiership footballers' socks that have been made into puppets by pupils from Southwick Primary School, in Sunderland.

The event aims to raise cash for new charity, No Strings, which was founded by Michael Frith and his wife, Katherine Mullen, who helped create The Muppets. It uses puppetry to provide life-saving and culturally sensitive education for children in the developing world - fostering landmine safety awareness and educating children about HIV and Aids.

The auction starts at 7.30pm and people can also bid for the items on the website, www.no-strings.net.
