A PROGRAMME of consultation has begun over transport plans for the Hambleton area.
Transport users and providers are being asked for their views on the district council's draft transport strategy.
The strategy brings together the transport policies and projects under way.
It sets out what action is proposed during the next five years and what the council's view is on the policies and projects of other organisations - including North Yorkshire County Council and the Highways Agency.
"We want to create a better, more integrated, safe and sustainable transport system, which is capable of meeting the needs of local residents, workers, businesses and visitors," said director of planning and environmental services, Steve Quartermain.
"To do that we need to hear the views of everyone - users and providers."
Projects range from the Highways Agency's proposals to upgrade the Hambleton stretch of the A1 to motorway standards to locally provided community transport initiatives.
