Division One - Acklam SW 0, Fishburn Park 3: Acklam Steelwork are ending the season with a trophy of any kind, a rarity in its self, they entertained Whitby side Fishburn Park.

They took the lead through Duncan Marson after only 12 minutes, Marson with his second of the game and 7th of the season made it 2-0 four minutes later and ran the Acklam defence ragged throughout the game, he was later named as the Fishburn man of the match, Daniel Brown then gave Fishburn a 3-0.

Carlin How 5, Wolviston Res 2

Carlin How who are in the final of the Raine Trophy on Monday 5th May, against Fishburn Park, bounced back from last week's narrow defeat at Acklam, took the lead against Wolviston Reserves after only 55 second, when a corner was cleared out to Daniel Wilkinson who volleyed home from the edge of the penalty box, this only seemed to spur on the visitors but Craig Tyreman in the Carlin How goal kept his side's lead intact, until the 39th minute when Nicky Anderson was adjudged to have brought down Wolviston's Ian Thompson, Steve Casey equalised from the spot, but a minute before half-time a Steve Starsmore free kick was headed on to the back post where Jason Couse gave Carlin how a 2-1 lead going into the half-time break. Two minutes into the second half Carlin How took a 3-1 lead when Nicky Wards cross shot was saved by Malcolm Williams in the Wolviston goal, but the ball hit Jason Draper on the legs to make it 3-1. Wolviston then battled back and pulled it back to 3-2 when Chris Murray headed home a loose ball that was bouncing around the Carlin How area. The match got a bit naughty and a number of cautions were made to keep the lid on the match, in the 68th minute Carlin took a good grip on the match when Draper with his second of the match and 24th of the season, got on the end of Peter Winspear cross to make it 4-2, in the dying seconds of the match a corner fell to Starsmore who knocked home his 14th of the season to make it 5-2.

Grangetown BC 3, Thornaby FC 3

Grangetown Boys Club neck and neck with Nunthorpe at the top of the league were entertaining Thornaby, who was one of only four teams to beat the current Champions this season in the League. Dave Watson seemed to set the Boys Club on the winning trail when he scored after only three minutes. Gary Simpson doubled the score in the 30th minute, to take his team into the half-time break 2-0 ahead. In the second half Thornaby who have an outside chance of catching the top three fought back and ten minutes into the second half Michael Arif scored to pull it back to 2-1, three minutes later Arif with his second of the match and 21st of the season made it all square at 2-2. Grangetown then took the lead again on the hour when Paul Cochran with his 20th of the season scored to make it 3-2, but Thornaby fought back and with five minutes remaining Gary Wyatt popped up to make it 3-3 and secure the draw.

Mackinlay Park 3, BEADS FC 1

Redcar side Mackinaly Park were still looking for points to make sure they were safe of the relegation dogfight, but Middlesbrough side BEADS in their last match of the season were looking to finish on a winning note, the visitors had the first chance to take the lead after twenty minutes, when a penalty was awarded, but Paul Callen missed from the spot, fifteen minutes later the visitors took the lead when Andy Bowman scored to send his side 1-0 ahead into the half-time break. A minute into the second half Mackinlay Park drew level when Leigh Williams with his second of the season scored. Six minutes later the home side took a 2-1 lead through Charlie Eeles 6th of the season before Gary Owens with his second of the season sealed the win and the Redcar sides place in the first division.

New Marske SC 2, Thornaby YC 1

New Marske Sports Club pulled of the shock of the day when they were entertaining Thornaby Youth Club, but they were actually playing at Thornaby. Gary Bickerstaff gave New Marske a 20th minute lead in their quest of trying to beat the drop into the second division when he pounced at the back post. A minute into the second half new Marske were given a glimmer of beating the drop with three remaining games to play, when Bickerstaff scored to make it 2-0, the Youth Club pulled it back to 2-1 in the 75th minute when Wayne Mahoney scored.

Stokesley SC 0, Nunthorpe Ath 4

Stokesley were entertaining Nunthorpe Athletic who were looking for points to try and claim the Championship off Grangetown BC, Stokesley on the other hand were looking for points to keep out of the relegation battle with New Marske, A corner in the 39th minute finally brought the opening goal through Anthony Roberts' 25th of the season, the only goal of the first half. Glynn Swinnerton headed home the second for Nunthorpe, with their keeper seemingly still dazed from an earlier incident, five minutes later a long range free kick from Chris Fuller flew past the still dazed keeper, who was then substituted, three minutes before the full time whistle James Mellon then secured their place at the top of the table.

Division Two

Darlington CB 2, Guisb Town Res 1

But their plan was put to the test as the Guisborough side in their last match of the season were looking to finish with a win, and shocked the home side by taking the lead through Stephen Bell in the 17th minute the Darlington side pressed for a way back into the match and just on the stroke of half time they drew level through Michael Whiting's first of the season. In the second half Darlington Cleveland Bridge pressed forward and their pressure paid off on the hour when Nigel Clarke with his 3rd for the Bridge secured the points for his team.

Teesside Ath 3, Darlington SRM 1

Teesside Athletic and Darlington Simpson Rolling Mills only met for the first time this season last Saturday, Athletic won 4-2, on Monday DSRM were unlucky to be beaten by Teesside Arriva in the Burness Plate final, which also saw the Darlington keeper break his leg in two places. Teesside Athletic started the brightest and opened the scoring after thirty minutes following a corner, Michael Lyons scoring from close range, they increased their lead through Jamie Martin with a strong solo run that saw him finish off with a shot with the outside of his boot to bring his goals scored to sixteen for the season. A minute before half time Michael Farrell made it 3-0 with a direct free kick, that he curled into the top right hand corner. In the second half, the home side seemed to take their foot of the gas and Darlington SRM pulled a goal back through Danny Thorns, his 5th of the season, but no further goals were forthcoming as both teams in their last matches of the season saw out the remainder of the match played in a sporting manner.

Whinney Banks 0, Teesside Arriva 5

Hartlepool side Teesside Arriva made it a week to remember when after clinching the Alex Burness Plate on Bank Holiday Monday with a narrow 2-1 win against Darlington SRM, on Wednesday evening they beat Spennymoor Black & Decker 3-1 in the final of the Washington Aged Peoples Trophy, they went into this match knowing a win would give them the Second Division Runners-Up position and promotion to the First Division. They were at Whinney Banks, who at one time were one of the main contenders for promotion but the loss of a number of key players has seen them slip down the league, they actually beat Arriva at Hartlepool back in late August, but then lost in the MacMillan Bowl and in the semi-finals of the Burness Plate. After a goalless first half, Arriva took the lead four minutes into the second half through Neil Hay, three minutes later Paul Adamson with his second of the season; his first ironically was also against Whinney Banks, Hay then secured his hat trick with goals in the 57th and 64th minute to take his tally to 22 for the season, he is the Second Divisions leading goal scorer, before Bob Weatherill secured the win that clinched then the first division status as runners-up.
