NEW CHAIRMAN: Councillor Bill Oliver has taken over as the chairman of Middleton St George Parish Council.
Councillor Brian Jones stepped down at a meeting earlier this week after being elected as ward councillor for Sadberge in the recent local elections. Councillor Christine Sirrell was re-elected vice-chairman. There is one vacancy left on the parish council.
HOMES TARGETED: Burglars have targeted two new homes in Middleton St George. People had been preparing to move in to the houses when the thefts occurred. A computer was taken from Acorn Grove and a CD player from Ropner Gardens. Attempts were made to force the front doors and in each case a window was smashed. Previously, the burglars had broken into a cabin on the Shepherd's Home building site and stolen keys they thought would fit the Acorn Grove house.
