DAVID Beckham's changing hairstyle has proved a headache for lookalike Shaun Campbell.

The 22-year-old has had to endure two painful hours in the barbers chair as stylists plaited his blonde locks into the Beckham braid.

Mr Campbell is blessed with near-identical features to the football hero and makes a living by making public appearances as the midfielder.

But the England captain's constantly changing hairstyles have proved a nightmare for the Newcastle fan.

Beckham has gone from a floppy fringe to bald, and now to braids - and that means Mr Campbell has had to repeatedly change his hair.

Mr Campbell, from Brandon, County Durham, said: "If Beckham has his hair plaited, then I've got to get it done.

"When Beckham got his head shaved, loads of the lookalikes refused to have it done and just stopped working."

Mr Campbell has been working as a professional David Beckham lookalike since last July after his parents and girlfriend made him send his photograph to an agency.

"We were watching a TV programme about lookalikes and everyone said I should send some photos in," he said.

"People used to come up to me where I worked in Durham in a nightclub and tell me that I looked like him - quite often it was girls!

"But until my family told me to go for it, I never really seriously considered doing it as a job."

Mr Campbell, who also models, has found himself in great demand, making guest appearances two or three times a week, earning between £250 and £500 for anything from nightclub openings to adverts.

"Now I'm styled to look like Beckham, I get even more people coming up to me, but not so much in Durham as when I'm travelling around the country on appearances.

"People do ask me for my autograph, sometimes as myself, but most want me to sign it as being from Beckham."
