Four of the seven fixtures in Division A failed to start and in the other three games there were victories for Middleton St George and Haughton.

Middleton St George hosted Aldbrough St John who they pegged to 78 for four in just 25 overs which was the maximum allowed because of the weather. Brian Jones top performed hitting three boundaries in 34 and for Middleton St George, Amjid Hussein sent down 12 overs claiming two wickets for 39 runs.

When they went into bat Middleton St George reached the target in 10.4 overs losing only a couple of wickets. Paul Rogers hit a six and two boundaries making 30, John Bainbridge added 26 and at the end S Rogers was not out 18 in partnership with Hall.

Haughton went to Cliffe and won by 25 runs. Batting first the visitors ended on 150 for eight which included a top scoring unbeaten 46 by Keen. Bean contributed a useful 25 and for Cliffe Adamson captured four of the eight wickets to go down for 46 runs. Rutherford returned a useful two for 28.

In reply, Cliffe lost three early wickets before Curry raised their hopes scoring 44 but in the end they managed only 125 for seven as Gill claimed four wickets for just 16 runs.

Barningham were 136 for six before Rockliffe Park replied with 102 for four of which Wheeler scored 40 not out and Garbutt 37.

Mustard and French both took two wickets for Barningham who when they batted first were also indebted to Masford for his top scoring 70.

The games at Witton-le-Wear, Heighington and Ingleby were washed out without a ball being bowled and there was no play at all in Division B.
