MOTORCYCLE enthusiasts will descend on the region next month as owners of classic machines from around the country meet at the former home of Bobby Shafto.
Organisers of the Durham Dales Classic Motorcycle Run are expecting to attract about 80 pre-1968 classic motorcycles on Sunday, June 8.
The Shafto Inn, at Whitworth Hall Hotel, Spennymoor, County Durham, is the starting point of a 50-mile route. Starting at 10am, the bikers will travel through villages including Stanhope and Middleton-in-Teesdale before returning to The Shafto Inn later in the day.
The event is being organised by the Teesside Yesteryear Motor Club, and entry forms are available on (01642) 535708.
