MUSIC fans across the region are being encouraged to log on to The Northern Echo's music website Revolution to cast their vote in the Big Chance competition.

With voting closing tomorrow, there is only one day left to have your say on who should make it to the final of this exciting competition.

The Big Chance aims to give an unsigned North-East artist or band a chance to make it to the big time.

The winner will receive three days in Sanity Multimedia's recording studio, in Stockton, and 100 CDs with artwork

More than 50 acts entered the competition and a panel of judges had the difficult task of selecting the top ten tracks.

The ten artists are 101, Eskimo, Itchy Zip, solo artist Martin Hughes, Maximo Park, Snatch, Stone Coda, Take The Fifth, The Chapters, and Trigger.

Their tracks can be heard on Revolution, and fans can vote to choose the final three.

The website can be found at www.thisisrevolution.co.uk

The finalists will play at a live gig on Thursday, June 19, at The Georgian Theatre, in Stockton, where the winner will be chosen.

The finals judges are: Colin Paterson, programme director at TFM; Adam Sayers and Jonathan Burrows, of Sanity Multimedia recording studios; Michael Atkinson, Revolution's web editor; and John Whitehead, of The Fourth Chamber.

The process of narrowing down the list of entrants to finalists has been particularly difficult this year, because the entries have been excellent.

Mr Atkinson said: "It is going to be hard picking a winner."

The event starts at 7.30pm, and tickets are £3 at the door.

The Big Chance is sponsored by Darlington College of Technology, The Fourth Chamber, Northumbrian Water, Copperfield Clothing, Air Clothing, and Blackett, Hart and Pratt.
