Tow Law Coors: League leaders, Tow Law New Market B were taken to the wire before they edged through to beat their hosts at Billy Row Club. The home side took the two trebles points but the visitors replied by taking the first four singles through Wayne Anderson, Stephen Umpelby, Joe Jordan and Gavin Tennant. The New Market B clinched their win when they took two of the three doubles.
After their unexpected defeat last week at Sunniside Comedian, Newhouse Club returned to form to move into third place in the table after dropping only two points to the visiting Esh McKennas. The visitors' only points came in the singles, where Colin Trepte and Keith Starr won. The home side's singles points came from Dave Thornton, Brian Jones, Tom McQuillan and Steve Wilkie.
The leading individual scorers were K.Starr with a maximum and J.J. Starr with 168 for Esh McKennas, whilst J. McCorquadale made the best start of the week with 152 for Billy Row Club.

Crook Ladies League
Crook Belle Vue and Crook Travellers Rest established themselves as the early league leaders after they beat Billy Row Green B and Tow Law North Point respectively. The best win of the week came for the Victoria Club, who moved a point behind the leaders after they beat last season's runners up, Tow Law New Market B by the odd point, a result engineered by their five-one win in the singles.
The leading individual scorers were Alison Brennan 140 and Val Fets 120 for the Black Horse, Sue Hocking 132 for the Royal George, Sheila Jones 126 for Jelly's Bar A, Susan Timoney 121 for the Queen's Head B and Jean Wright 120 for Billy Row Green A.
