TWO men had hospital treatment following a disturbance on Westgate, Redcar, opposite the Priory garage, at about 11.45pm on Friday.

It is also believed two other men, who came to the assistance of the pair, may also have been hurt. Police are appealing for information on the incident, and in particular want to speak to the men who offered help. Anyone with information is asked to call (01642) 302626.

MUSIC SCHOOL: Applications are being accepted for the ninth Four Seasons Music School. There are three courses, all of which are held in Eaglescliffe, from Monday, July 28, to Friday, August 1, from 9am to 5pm, with a concert at 7pm on the Friday. The music activity course requires no musical knowledge and is aimed at children aged six to ten. The orchestral course is for children who play an orchestral instrument and who are between grade one and grade five, while the chamber course is for players up to grade eight. ART WORKSHOPS: Each Saturday this month, free art workshops are being held at a community studio in the Sir William Gray House, Clarence Road, Hartlepool, from 10am to 4pm. The events are being organised by the Hartlepool Arts Studio Project. Anyone over 18 is invited to take part, and all materials will be provided.

CHARITY THANKS: The 1507 Chester-le-Street ATC squadron has thanked everyone who helped the cadets raise £422 during a bag-pack at the Co-op. The money will go towards adventure training equipment and expeditions.

SILVER BAND: Music lovers enjoyed a concert in Preston Park by Billingham Silver Band on Sunday afternoon. The event took place in the walled garden of the park, and the band played a mixture of classical and easy listening music.
