A REVIEW is to study the relationship between Hambleton District Council and local firms.

Councillors want to know what help is given to businesses and what more could be offered.

Members of the authority's finance and resources over-view and scrutiny committee will hear evidence from council officers and members of the business community during the three-month policy review. A team of 13 people will look at advice and support, communications, promotion and start-up help.

It wants to establish whether relationships are good or bad and identify any improvements needed.

Representatives from businesses as well as Yorkshire Forward, Business Link, Thirsk Market Town Initiative and local chambers of trade will be asked for their views.

A survey of local firms and chamber of trade members will also be carried out.
