Federation Special Durham Senior League - Under-15s: Hetton Lyons romped to 144 and did not lose a wicket when they hosted Burnmoor. Kane carried his bat for 72 and Walter finished unbeaten on 52 before Burnmoor were restricted to 97 for five in their reply.

Chester-le-Street dismissed Gateshead Fell for only 48 to win by a margin of 64 runs. Batting first the Cestrians realised 112 for nine with runs from Stephenson (22) and Shurben (21).

Alex Strange claimed three wickets for only 13 runs and Arkle also took three wickets at a cost of 31 runs.

Replying however, Gateshead Fell failed to make even 50 as Sowden took two wickets for just one run. McTaggart had two for four and Smith two for 17.

Parker, with an unbeaten 34 and Fairlamb (25) lead Durham City to 125 for six at Felling for whom Geldar captured four of the six wickets to fall for just 28 runs.

When they went into bat Felling were always in with a chance so long as Paul Leonard was at the wicket but following his dismissal for 51 the innings only produced 105 for three leaving Durham City winners by a margin of 20 runs.

Parker bowled a good end in the City attack taking two of the three wickets to go down for 23 runs.

After realising 160, South Hetton pegged Seaham Harbour to just 81 while the Whitburn batsmen fared a great deal worse and were back in the pavilion with just 30 runs on the board at Eppleton.

Elliott Hughes returned the magnificent figures of four wickets without cost in two overs, Craig Hughes had three for 13 from the five overs he delivered, Graeme Wilson took two for 12 also in a five overs spell and the other wicket was picked up by Scott Bothwick without cost.

In reply, Eppleton raced to victory losing just one wicket. Craig Hughes completed a good night's work by hitting one six and four boundaries in an unbeaten 22 partnering Scott Bothwick in an unbroken second wicket partnership. Eppleton needed just 15 deliveries to make the necessary runs.

Luke Anderson, with an excellent innings of 61 and Jonathan Loach, who also batted well for 41 not out enabled Philadelphia to post 122 for two in their home game with South Shields.

Hutton took both the wickets to go down for just 20 runs and replying South Shields could only manage 51 for six as Thomas Raine returned figures of two for four and Kieron Waterson two for 15.

Sunderland ended with a healthy 125 for seven on the board against Marsden who were 55 for six when their overs expired.

Ross Hughes (38) and Richard Smith (22) were the main contributors for Sunderland and in the Marsden attack Chris Khan had the excellent figures of three for 18. When Richard Smith captured two wickets for just 20 runs, Marsden were never in the hunt.

Under-18s

Chester-le-Street hosted Hetton Lyons at Ropery Lane and won at a canter. After restricting the visitors to 76 for eight which included an unbeaten 44 by Paul Riddle, the Cestrians won without conceding a wicket. Martin Stephenson, who earlier took two wickets for 13 runs, carried his bat for 40 and John Coxon remained unbeaten on 20.

Eppleton had several wickets to spare in their home fixture with Felling.

Paul Leonard lead Felling to 86 for one when he ended unbeaten on 51 and Tennent also ended undefeated with 24 to his credit.

David Lowther, a regular in the Eppleton first team, again showed form adding 32 to the Eppleton total of 87 for three. Two of the three wickets went to Leonard for 13 runs.

After holding Horden to 73 for five, Burnmoor won losing just one wicket and Durham City had just one run to spare in their home game with Gateshead Fell who replied with 80 for seven after City had made 81 for six.

Despite scoring only 87 for three, South Hetton made Whitburn work hard before losing by four wickets.

Kyle Bradbury finished undefeated on 36 for South Hetton and in the home attack, David Race took all three wickets to go down for 26 runs.

In the reply, Whitburn were indebted to Jonathan Unwin who scored 56 not out when his side replied with 88 for six.

Comby had the excellent figures off three wickets for two runs for South Hetton.

Marsden overtook the Boldon total of 99 for six with eight of their wickets remaining. Their match winner with the bat was David Stuart while Philip Randle contributed 31 for the home side.

At Ashbrooke, Sunderland defeated Philadelphia by nine wickets. Greg Applegarth ended unbeaten on 46 out of the Sunderland total of 95 for one after Ross Galley (33) and Paul Neesham (24) had provided most of the runs for the visitors.
