Tow Law Area League: Tow Law Rose and Crown upset the league leaders at Cornsay Royal Oak when they went away with an odd point victory. Sonia Windsor and George Cairns gave the home side a great start but the visitors then took four in a row through George Gwynnette, Christine Rand, Dorothy Mowbray and Alan Spence. The Oak took two doubles but the visitors clinched their victory when vena and George Gwynnette beat Ian Truby and George Cairns,
Esh Stag's Head, the reigning champions, were able to move up to share second place with Tow Law Station after they won by the odd point at Hamsteels Inn. The singles were shared with Barry Barron, John Hanley and Steve Johnson winning for Hamsteels, whilst Dave Hindmoor, Mally Walker and Tom March replied. The Stag's went on to take two of the three doubles for victory.

Crook League
Willington Market were taken to the deciding doubles before they recorded their First Division victory at Crook Jelly's Bar A. the singles were shared with Fred Samuels, Norman Jones and Michael Jewitt winning for the home side, whilst Gary Trow, Darren Peacock and John Blackett levelled. In the deciding doubles Ian Moore and John Blackett took the Market to victory by beating Keith Dixon and Michael Jewitt.
Crook Belle Vue extended their lead at the top of the First Division to eleven points following their five points home victory over Crook Mill House. Crook Royal Sun are in second place, three points ahead of Crook Travellers Rest B and Crook Queen's Head A.
Second Division leaders, Hunwick Club had their lead cut to two points after they went down at home to Crook Coach and Horses B. The home side's only points came from Dave Robson and Ian Richardson in the singles whilst the Coach had singles wins from David Stephenson, Gerald Parkin, Darren Tinkler and Eric Major to add to the doubles win from Gerald Parkin and David Stephenson.
Willington Brewer's Droop are in second place with an eight points advantage over Crook Spitfire Club, Crook Surtees and Crook Coach and Horses B.

Tow Law & District Dominoes League
In the top of the table clash Tow Law Football Club moved two points clear after they only dropped one point to the visiting Tow Law Dan's Castle B, who had Angela Suddes as their only winner. The footballers points came from Jim Day, Charlie Donaghy, Charlie McGee and Terry Ginty.
Tow Law Station were able to move into second place following their win in the decider at Tow Law Dan's Castle A. The Station went two up with wins from Christopher Reed and Wayne Tennant but Lee Stockdale and Colin Armstrong levelled the match. In the decider the Station's Alan Ogilvie beat Anthony Hird.
The Captain's Table sees Billy Lyle of Tow Law Football Club still firmly entrenched at the top after he came back to beat Angela Suddes, who had now slipped two points behind. Angela led, needing only one more leg from the two remaining and had her down but Billy managed to level and take the decider.
