A NEW web site has been set up by the Highways Agency offering the public a chance to contribute to the future of the A1.

Comments can be given online and will be used as a background for decisions on draft policies. Highways Agency project manager Keith Gorst said: "The route management strategy for the A1 will look at what the road does now and then examine what we need it to do in the future. Local people often know a great deal about local problems and what the solutions might be, so it is vital they are consulted from the start."

The web site can be found at www. highways.gov.uk and then following the local information link to the A1 Route Management Strategy site.
