A CHARITY football auction at the National Glass Centre raised £1,185 for two charities.
The auction of footballing memorabilia was the highlight of the Legends of '73 celebrations to mark the 30-year milestone since Sunderland won the FA Cup.
Alison Atkinson, from the Sunderland glass centre, who organised the Legends of '73 exhibition and the charity football auction, said: "The exhibition proved to be a huge success, attracting new audiences to the glass centre.
"The auction was the icing on the cake to bring the exhibition to a close and we're delighted with the money raised for the chosen deserving causes."
The highest amount paid on the night was £320 for a rare Hartley Wood glass plate which was signed by all of the 1973 team.
Cheques were handed over to the European Services for People with Autism, which was represented by Norman Howe, and the Stroke and Dyphasic Support Fund, represented by Lorraine Coleman.
