THE Great Yorkshire Show was on course to maintain its attendance record after a bigger crowd yesterday.
Gates were thought to be slightly down on the opening day on Tuesday when showers kept casual visitors away.
However, although organisers emphasised formal statistics are only compiled once the event is over, the feeling was that yesterday's sunshine had compensated for the earlier lapse.
"If it continues like this, we should be on course to match last year's figures," said chief executive Nigel Pulling yesterday.
