A TEESSIDE youngster has designed his future school's badge.

Alderman William Jones and Attlee Road primary schools, in Grangetown, Middlesbrough, are set to join forces in September and will become Caedmon Primary School.

Nine-year-old Zack Brown, a pupil at Alderman William Jones Primary, won first prize in the competition to find the best logo, with his drawing of a harp and overlapping rings representing the two schools working together.

His design will be put on the new school's sweatshirts.

Nathan Welburn, eight, from Attlee Road primary, was runner-up.

Alderman William Jones primary's headteacher Philip McElwee will be headteacher of the merged schools.
