COLLEGE staff and student volunteers will be tying their shoelaces and slipping into promotional T-shirts at the weekend, before embarking on a five-kilometre run for charity.
More than 40 female runners from Northallerton College will be taking part in Sunday's Race for Life, in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Races will be taking place at venues across the country, with the college team doing their run at South Park, in Darlington.
The team is made up of 18 staff members, including principal Jennifer Slater, and 24 Millennium Volunteers - young people from the college who give their time to benefit the community.
Some volunteers from Stokesley, Thirsk and Easingwold will also be taking part.
The runners will wear T-shirts designed for the event by college art teacher Jane Wass.
Jean Lake, the college's head of art, said it was wonderful that so many people had become involved in the run.
"The strong support shows how many people feel touched by cancer, perhaps because friends or family have been treated for it, or even because they have been personally affected," she said.
